Father and Son

My son is currently studying at the Texas A&M University. That was also where my husband and I met almost 25 years ago. That school really is special because aside from getting my education there, that is where I met my husband. I also find it special that my son and his father get to bond over thing related to that school.

Anyway, I was thinking of something that I can give both of them for Christmas last year and I have found the perfect thing to give them. It’s the Texas A&M Victory Aggie watch and it really looked beautiful. When my son and his husband opened their gifts on that Christmas day, I can see that they both really loved them. They even thanked me for considering our school in choosing my gift.

Ringed For Life

Having four great friends are one of the main reasons why I get to survive in an otherwise harsh and cruel world. These girls would get me through any horrible day, and my life will not be complete without them. We have all met in college, and have never separated ever since. After graduation, we all headed out to the city for an opportunity of a great career and life for ourselves.

Celebrating five years of great friendship, we recently met up a few weeks ago for a party. I could remember very well the first time we all met, and we recounted the wonderful memories as well as the bad ones that we now would laugh about. We all agreed to give each other gifts, and I chose matching unique citrine rings for all of us. We may not have the perfect partners in life yet, but having these great friends around have already made me ringed for life.

Trinkets of Memories

Having lost my mom from cancer, I have kept most of the photos, valuables and gifts from her intact. Growing up without a mother can be painful, especially during those times when you need someone to talk to or share those wonderful occasions in your life. I envy those who still have the opportunity of spending their lives in the comfort of their moms.

Keepsakes from my mom are kept in a box. Aside from that stainless steel bracelet that she gave me during my last birthday before she left us, all others are neatly stored in the box of her trinkets. I miss mom all the time, but looking back on those brief but wonderful memories we shared while I look over these trinkets of memories remind me that she is fully alive in my heart.

Swiss Luxury

Investing in classic and quality timepieces have always been my quirk. Various watches in different styles and colors, the contents of my watch box are definitely a great investment. My Raymond Weil watch is definitely a showstopper compared to other watches I own.

This watch is my perfect accessory for meeting with clients and going out for drinks with friends. A classic timepiece, this is produced exquisitely by one of the remaining independent Swiss brands in the industry of luxury watches. This watch of mine is sure to be a keeper. My freelancer summertime is definitely a Swiss luxury.

Charity Events

I once attended a charitable event sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. My father-in-law was an active member of this Catholic fraternal service organization, and has heard lots of stories about the group from my husband. Since the event was for a good cause, I invited a few friends as well.

The event was apparently for kids who lost an arm or leg during the Haiti earthquake. The media open house was flocked with volunteers and members proudly wearing their Knights of Columbus Rings. Commitments flew in from those with the biggest of hearts. I was astonished by the charity works my father-in-law was involved in. Values I would also like to instill to my child.

The Twin Box

I have a friend I’ve known since I was a 5-year-old girl. We were very close and until high school we can never be separated. When college came, we eventually had to part ways because we got accepted at different universities. We were miles apart and seeing each other as often as we would like to was just not possible. Our meetings were then limited to spring break, Thanksgiving, Christmas and other holidays.

Last year, she got into a car accident and I was really sad that we won’t be able to see each other ever again. When we were in middle school, we both had wooden keepsake boxes where we would put our ’secrets’ together. When I asked her mom where her box is she said that she has not seen it in years. Luckily, I found the same keepsake box and I bought it. I placed it side by side with mine and it makes me smile whenever I remember the times when we were by each other’s side all the time.

When considering the purchase of cubic zirconia jewelry, the first thing that one should look for is the size and clarity of the stone. Like genuine stones, cubic zirconia comes in different grades that determine its quality. You can often find men CZ rings made with the highest quality of cubic zirconia that has a beautiful brilliant appearance. The lower grades of cubic zirconia look more like ordinary glass. This synthetic gemstone very closely resembles diamonds.

Because of the cubic zirconia’s diamond-like appearance and affordable price, this gemstone is highly popular and is frequently used in jewelry such as rings, earrings, bracelets, and pendants. Although this gemstone is synthetic, it is inspired by its natural counterpart, zirconium oxide, which was first discovered in 1892 but was too rare to be commercially profitable. This gemstone is usually colorless, but can also be made in nearly any color, including soft yellow, which is characteristic of some diamonds.

Wear your Color

There are different ways to categorize the various types of gemstones. They can be identified by category or classified by how they are made. Another way to classify gemstones is through their description as precious, semi-precious, or organic. However you want to classify them, these stones are popularly made into unique gemstone rings that are worn by almost everybody. When gemstones are identified by the way they are made, they can often be broken down into three groups.

These groups are genuine, created, and synthetic, which are typically used to determine price and rarity of stones. Genuine stones are made by nature and taken out directly from the earth. Created stones refer to laboratory created copies of genuine stones that are real chemical copies. These stones are not just obtained through collection or mining. Created stones usually don’t cost as much as genuine stones and often lack the imperfections of mined stones.

The trench watch is a type of watch that came into use by the military during World War I since pocket watches were not considered practical in combat. The trench watch was actually considered the military pocket watch since it was a transitional design between pocket watches and wrist watches that incorporated features of both. The very first watch that somebody adapted to be worn on the wrist, which gave birth to the wristwatch, is actually unknown.

From pocket watches, trench watches inherited hinged front and back covers. The lugs for a strap looked like a thick wire attachment to the classical round shape of traditional pocket watches rather than an integrated part of the body of the later and modern wrist watches. The name “wristlet” was used until the early 1930’s and was eventually replaced by the modern name that we all use today which is wrist watch. The first series of purpose-made wrist watches were produced by Girard-Perregaux in 1880 for the German Navy.
